Born and raised primarily in the United States, I spent significant time in Europe as well. My first time abroad was as a young girl when my whole family (I am number nine in a family of eleven!) spent six years in Italy. Later, as a young mother, I lived five years in Munich, and in 2001 my husband made his third career move to Bavaria in Germany where we and our three daughters currently live.
My father was trained as an opera singer and through him I gained an early interest in music. Singing was a regular part of our times together as a family. In my teen-age years I spent hours singing with my sister, usually trying to imitate the harmonies of our favorite folk songs and singers from the 60’s.
I was also fascinated with the world around me and studied Zoology. As the years went on and our three daughters had moved on to pursue their own lives, I enrolled in a program for Christian counseling. What I learned there helped me with the difficult situations out of my own life.
